Architects honoured at the 2019 ACT Architecture Awards
The recent ACT Architecture Awards honoured the talented profession with awards and commendations across 30 categories, including 3 developments that feature Stryum, our high quality, non-combustible aluminium façade panel, as well as our natural architectural fibre cement cladding, Equitone.
Offering a modern and reliable alternative to many cladding products, has been specifically designed by experienced commercial façade professionals utilising the ventilated rainscreen system. Complementing this contemporary yet elegant product is the natural beauty of Equitone, a prefinished 8mm high density cladding, both available in a range of finishes that are environmentally friendly and completely non-combustible.
Edgeworth Apartments by Cox Architecture was the recipient of the Residential Architecture – Multiple Housing Sydney Ancher Award. In the heart of Canberra, the façade of this contemporary development is clad in a combination of the distinct Stryum Seam in Kosciusko Breeze, along with Equitone Natura through-coloured material in special colour N073, resulting in a stylish appeal of clean lines with a modern mix of finishes.
Manuka Oval Media and Function Centre, Populous, received commendation in the category of Commercial Architecture. The multi-use facility combines the Stryüm cladding system in Shadow profiles 160 and 300 in horizontal and vertical manner over the 19 metre tall façade.
CGGS Early Learning Centre, Daryl Jackson Alastair Swayn, who won the award in the category of Educational Architecture. The Canberra Girls Grammar School development situated in the suburb of Deakin, features two Equitone materials – the highly expressive structure of Tectiva TE15 which offers high durability; complemented by Natura N215 with its smooth matt surface providing attractive clean lines.
The outstanding buildings produced by these architects will now be showcased nationally with winners advancing to the National Architecture Awards to be announced on 7 November.
