NINE CLADDING BRANDS NAMED IN CODEMARK REVIEW
Vitrabond FR is one of nine brands that have been advised that CodeMark Certificate of Conformity has been suspended.
As part of widespread – and welcome – reviews into cladding and the CodeMark process, arranged by JAS-ANZ and the Australian Building Codes Board (ABCB), the auditing agency has asked for clarification pertaining to the certification of several facade related products, including Vitrabond FR.
Our technical team is working with the Codemark issuer Certmark International to resolve the concerns raised. In the meantime if you are working on a Vitrabond FR project, we recommend notifying the project building surveyor/certifier of this suspension. The CodeMark certificate is one form of evidence for compliance and does not preclude the use of the other evidence under clause A2.2 of the BCA.
This suspension does not affect compliance on completed projects.
Fairview made the separate decision to cease actively stocking Vitrabond FR in late 2018, due to market preference for its other cladding products. There was no certification or safety query on the product.
