Art Meets Architectural Design - Custom Decorative Facades & Cladding

We have launched our latest product today, VitraArt, a custom graphic cladding solution that can bring artwork to life as large scale décor print concepts for architectural projects. With a wide range of formats and options available, buildings can obtain their own character through unique and innovative designs.

The first project to include a VitraArt individualised design concept is the George Windsor Apartments in Windsor, Melbourne.  The recently completed development designed by PACE architects features an original artwork entitled “frieze” by local artist, Matthew Johnson (see George Windsor Apartments project news for more information).

The process is simple. A customer supplies us with their design which is then applied to either Vitrabond FR or Vitracore G2 (Australia’s leading deemed non-combustible aluminium composite panel) using the VitraArt custom cladding coating system. A UV resistant satin-clear fluoropolymer finish is also added as well as a protective film that helps prevent damage to the decorative surface when the panels are being machined and installed.

Commenting on his involvement in the George Windsor development, Matthew Johnson said: “The project involved integrating art into architecture and therefore bringing my artwork into reality. It also allowed me to push conceptual boundaries and to work with different materialities”.
