Royal Randwick Racecourse

About the project

Fairview supplied the facade solution for rectification works to the Queen Elizabeth II Grandstand at Royal Randwick Racecourse in Sydney. The project required the existing architectural character of the grandstand to be retained while upgrading the facade for long-term performance.

Design Intent

A key requirement was to integrate the new facade with the existing grandstand, including recreating its distinctive timber-look elements while delivering a durable solution suited to a major sporting venue.

Outcome

Fairview supplied more than 8,500m² of 4mm Vitradual solid aluminium panels in Thriller Grey, Silver Metallic, Pure White and Enigma Black.

A custom Pale Woodgrain finish was also developed to replicate the existing timber-look facade, preserving the original design character while providing the performance benefits of solid aluminium.
