About the project
Located in Noarlunga Downs, South Australia, Cardijn College’s Marian West Campus is the first stage of the college’s long-term masterplan. Designed by Grieve Gillett Architects and constructed by BADGE Constructions, the development creates a contemporary senior learning environment with a strong architectural identity.
Design Intent
As the first building in a staged campus expansion, the facade needed to establish a distinctive identity while delivering the durability and performance required for a high-use education environment.
The design called for a warm, textured material palette that would complement future stages of the masterplan while providing a robust, low-maintenance facade suited to everyday school use.
Outcome
Fairview supplied 2,154m² of Genesis prefinished fibre cement panels in Raw Linen, Raw Mustard, Raw Clay, Raw Copper Brown and Rustik, creating a warm, durable and low-maintenance facade for the new campus.
Genesis Raw Linen was also carried into the shared interior spaces, creating a cohesive material connection between the exterior and interior design.
“We were looking for a durable, long-lasting, low-maintenance product to meet the client’s needs. The gentle, warm colours and subtle texture of the Genesis Raw range were a perfect alignment with our design intent for a warm, approachable building. Excellent and timely support from the Fairview team from concept through to construction, whether that was arranging samples, discussing detailing, stock availability and specific construction-related queries. The combination of product range and excellent support has meant that we have already been specifying Fairview on other projects.”
