Solara is Fairview's range of architectural sunscreen systems featuring high-performance aluminium and terracotta battens, delivering a seamless, integrated finish for commercial, residential, and mixed-use facades. The battens feature factory powder-coated, anodised, or woodgrain finishes on aluminium and fired natural colours on terracotta, colour-matched to Fairview cladding like Clayton and Stryum, with protective delivery to site—speeding specification, simplifying procurement, and ensuring superior consistency over standalone batten suppliers.
Installed as a versatile clip-on or screw-fixed rainscreen, Solara enhances shading, energy efficiency, and NCC compliance across Australian climates. Combining proven non-combustible materials with Fairview's full-specification support, Solara offers an efficient, durable solution that completes your facade design while streamlining onsite coordination.

Solara FAQs
-
What is Solara?
Solara is Fairview’s range of architectural sunscreen systems designed to integrate with the Fairview facade system and help complete the building envelope. It brings aluminium and terracotta battens together under one coordinated offer for architects and specifiers.
-
What types of projects is Solara suitable for?
Solara is designed for projects where architectural expression, coordination, and compliance confidence matter — especially where Fairview facade systems are already being considered. It is particularly well suited to specification-led projects that benefit from a coordinated facade and sunscreen solution, rather than an off-the-shelf batten purchase.
Solara is commonly suited to commercial facades and feature walls, office buildings, shopping centres and retail developments, institutional projects, residential apartments and townhouses, and mixed-use buildings. It is also a strong fit for sun-shading, screening and ventilation applications, as well as interior decorative walls and ceilings, and landscape elements such as fences, gates and pergolas.
Because battens are often used to add texture, depth, screening and visual rhythm, Solara is popular on projects where the facade needs to do more than perform technically — it also needs to make a design statement. -
