Fairview in giving spirit with donation for local Christmas hampers

As part of Fairview's wellness program, the team raised money again this year, to donate food and gifts for inclusion into Lithgow Information & Neighbourhood Centre's (LINC) Christmas hampers, for those families in need within the Lithgow community.

The wellness initiative had the company divide into small teams, tasked with making as many steps as possible over a six week period, with the winning team being awarded a generous sum of money to donate to a charity of their choice, and a $50 voucher each.

The winning team of warehouse workers, Bradley Preston, Brayden McPaul, Brody Roy and Stephen Bevear, averaged 18,000 steps per day.

"We were committed to winning that money for a local charity! We walked to and from work, out to get lunch each day and around the warehouses instead of driving."

Instead of keeping their $50 prize money, the gentlemen kindly used the money to purchase additional presents for children who may not have otherwise received a gift on Christmas morning.

Each year, Fairview management and employees raise money for a local charity, with LINC being the chosen charity for the last couple of years now.

LINC's Community Hub Manager Leanne Walding expresses thanks to Fairview and the wider Lithgow community who help in compiling and delivering the hampers each year.

"Most of us are lucky that we don't face the financial stresses and lack of support faced by the vulnerable in our local community. These hampers ensure that more than 200 families are provided with a large hamper filled with locally sourced fresh produce, meat goods and Christmas items."

Supporting and giving back to the people and communities that have always supported us is important to us at Fairview - especially in our hometown of Lithgow.

The Fairview Family thank you all for your support throughout 2021, and wish you and your families a safe and festive holiday period!
