PE panels; addressing concerns about combustibility

Dear All,

Along with many others around the world, management and staff of Fairview Architectural extend their deepest condolences to everyone affected by the Grenfell Tower fire tragedy in North Kensington, London. In the hope of reducing concerns, we reiterate our previous advice about the correct use of ACM panels in residential and commercial settings.

No Fairview Architectural products were used on the Grenfell Tower, nor in any other similar fire incidents. While the London fire is still to be fully investigated, there has been media speculation that the European manufactured ACM cladding and insulation panel materials used on the Grenfell Tower refurbishment was combustible. Several ACM panels may be fit-for-purpose when they are:

  •          Correctly specified;
  •          Professionally installed; and
  •          Officially certified to perform to code and to regulations.

Please watch and share our ACM explainer videos HERE (Published on Jul 27, 2015) and HERE (Published on Oct 4, 2016), If in any doubt, always consult building surveyors and/or fire engineers who are responsible for determining whether any ACM panel used on a building is fit-for-purpose.

Fairview has engaged extensively with a wide range of stakeholders - the construction industry, engineers, media, politicians and regulators - to help educate them about the correct use of ACM panels in Australia.

So, if you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact us at helpdesk@fairview.local or visit our webpage www.fv.com.au. Our thoughts and prayers remain with those in London.

Kind Regards,
